Unbeatable 180kg Bumper plates package! These sets always sell fast, so get in early to avoid disappointment! As used in Olympic and other professional/competitive lifting events. These weights can be dropped from head height - the steel centre sleeves are designed for impact (when used in conjunction with an approved lifting platform). This package includes:

2x 25kg, 2x 20kg, 2x 15kg, 2x 10kg rubber bumper plates, 2x 5kg, 2x 2.5kg, 4x 1.25kg black rubber coated cast plates with grip handles
20kg Olympic bar, 32mm diameter, rotating ends with needle bearings, 1500lb max load
2x spring collars (star/spin lock collars are available for $29)

We've been importing bumper plates for around 4 years now, and we've tried all the different designs. High quality plates differ in two main ways:

The use of higher quality rubber
Adequate centre support, i.e. centre hubs

These plates are of the same design as Eleikos, utilising a large centre hub to distribute the impact load when the plate hits the floor. These bumpers wont twist/buckle on impact, so the centres won't fall out with long term use. We use high quality rubber, with a small percentage of synthetic EPDM rubber to provide additional durability, and to prevent the rubber from drying out.

Why use a cheap brass insert or sleeve when you can have a solid machined hub? Using a little brass sleeve makes the plate cheaper to manufacture, but the plate will not last as long, and your barbell ends up taking a beating from all the twisting forces that the plate transfers to it. This doesn't happen with our plates, as the twisting force is distributed through the large hubs, and the plate cannot fold over, or twist out of shape on impact. Basic inserts/sleeves work well in non-impact weight training plates, but not in Bumpers!
